"rEV Up Eugene!" workshops aim to show people that electric cars can be
cheaper than gas cars in the long run.

EUGENE, Ore. -- Free workshops are coming to Eugene to give you more
information on the benefits of owning electric vehicles.

The "rEV Up Eugene!" workshop shows people that it's easier than they think
to own an electric car.

The University of Oregon, EWEB, and the city of Eugene partnered with local
auto dealers to put on these workshops.

Staff with "rEV Up Eugene!" say the overall cost during the life of an
electric car ends up being less than a combustion engine car and their
battery lasts longer than you think. They say there are many charging
stations all over the city in case of a charging emergency and there are
even apps that keep track of them.

The first workshop is at 6 p.m. April 18 at the UO campus.
