Hi all,

Here's the reason I've rejoined the EV list after my long absence.

This is a sad message, but I need to lighten my load of one EV conversion
that's been "nearly done" for about 10 years. We're moving to the Seattle area
and it's uncertain how much room I'll have to work on it. Plus I promised my
wife that our move to Midland was the last one for the Ghia - if it wasn't
roadable by the time we left, I would sell it. That time has come.

It's a 1971 Karmann Ghia with custom seats and dashboard. It has an 8in
Advanced DC motor (the one from the Corbin Sparrow, so it has a longer
driveshaft). It's already installed via an Electro Automotive adapter with a
taperlock hub. I've driven it up the driveway and into the garage with one
battery and some jumper cables.

The car was designed with Exide Orbital batteries in mind, which appear to be
hard to find in the US now.

Not yet installed, but included:

- replacement wiring harness from Ron Francis wiring (the hot rod guys)
- Zilla 1K
- Manzanita Micro PFC20 charger
- 18 or so Mk 2 battery regulators, with my custom battery mounting hardware
- a PakTrakr (battery instrumentation system)
- Zilla cooling kit from Ryan Bohm at EV Source
- 1/0 battery cables and battery lugs
- various tools, such as an awesome crimper and a big inverter for battery load
testing

I haven't gone through and made a detailed list or come up with a price for it
yet. I thought maybe someone would be interested and make me an offer and save
me the work :)

Feel free to ask questions or make suggestions.

Thanks,

Doug W.
