The product is created by PC-PBT (polybutylene-terephthalate) Makroblend KU-2 7912/4, which possesses high impact strength and offers high ductility even at low temperatures. The honeycomb structure contributes to the extreme impact resistance of the crash absorber. In addition to this, Covestro will also be introducing the highly filled polycarbonates material of the Makrolon TC product family. This material is thermally conductive and is also available in electrically insulating versions so that it can contribute to the efficient thermal management of batteries.
