I decided to get a new set of tires even though my tires had a few thousand
miles left. The stock Ecopia is still the best choice. Costco has them for
under 600 dollars. Wheelworks was a little more but I decided to get a
alignment too and Costco doesn't do alignments. I found a broken off Phillips
head screw gun bit in the tire about 2 and a half inches long. A hole was
through the tread. It lost pressure quickly and I ruined the tire driving off
the Bay Bridge in San Francisco. No safe place to stop. Turns out a Sentra
doughnut will work on the Leaf. Lawrence Rhodes

Bizarre. I've never blown a tire in 40 some years. And I've driven on a
lot of potholed roads. Are you sure you didn't hit something? Or, do you
wear your sidewalls thin by, say, rubbing up against the curb while
parking?
