But none of them generate exhaust. What's going on here? Back before Porsche revealed it would be putting its all-electric Taycan sedan into production, it put two fake exhaust tips on the bumper of its test mules to confuse onlookers and spy photographers. Strangly, now that the car has been announced, Porsche still continues to run these fake exhaust tips on Taycan test mules. Watching this most recent spy video from the Nurburgring, I noticed something interesting: Porsche, for some reason, is running two different types of fake exhaust tips on its electric cars. Huh? Earlier this year, we saw a Taycan drifting around the Nurburgring in spectacular fashion, sporting two large fake exhaust tips, one per side. In this new video, though, we see at least two different Taycans: One with the original dual-pipe setup, and another with a quad-exit setup, two per side, similar to the exhausts on the current Panamera Turbo. The main thing I'm wondering is, why did Porsche go through the trouble of adding a new set of fake exhaust tips when the car's already been made official? Are different power or trim levels demarcated by different fake exhaust setups? My only other guess is the engineering team is using different style decoy exhausts to differentiate between multiple test mules—though that's purely speculation. We'll probably never know for sure why these cars have differentiating fake exhausts, but it's still interesting to point out ... Porsche keeps playing its game of “this is an ICE-powered prototype” around the Nurburgring where it is testing its first fully-electric vehicle, confirmed to be named the Taycan (pronounced as Tie-Kahn). We have no idea why the German sports car maker is still using fake exhaust tips at the back of this trial vehicle, as it has already made it clear it will not “lower itself to gimmicks” and use V8 in its all-electric sports car.... https://d2t6ms4cjod3h9.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/maxresdefault-45-898x505.jpg https://www.motor1.com/news/276738/porsche-taycan-nurburgring-spy-video/ Porsche Taycan Brings Its Fake Exhaust To The Nurburgring Nov 19, 2018 ... automaker promises the EV will be able to cover approximately 310 miles (500 km) between two charges with a 15-minute fast charging option providing enough energy for 248 miles (400 km) ... https://www.google.com/search?q=fake+exhausts search fake exhausts [dated] https://www.kare11.com/article/news/concertgoer-gets-head-stuck-in-tailpipe-at-winstock/89-563700084 Concertgoer gets head stuck in tailpipe at Winstock June 12, 2018 A young woman at the recently-held Winstock Country Music Festival has a story to tell... or not tell... to her kids and grandkids after getting her head stuck in the tailpipe of a truck.
