Hello EVDL,

I finally took the plunge and bought a used 2015 Fiat 500e from Carvana. The
car was low mileage and very clean. The 120 volt EVSE had a wall plug that was
very damaged from excess heat over time, but only apparent upon close
inspection. I changed the plug first thing, and had to remove about five inches
of heat damaged cord. Many of my home outlets showed faults on the electric
supply unit. One inside the kitchen checked out well, and an outlet by the pump
house was wired well. I will add a 240 volt outlet and stronger charger soon.
Today was the first day parking the gas truck and going electric. Very
different, quiet, smooth ride.
Next year new offices at work will include public charging.
In our county there is one Tesla charging station, one Nissan dealership J1772
working hours only, one Denny's 120 volt outlet, a few campgrounds with $10 per
2 hours 30 and 50 amp service with use of facilities, one home with J1772 to
share but please call first and one home with 120 volt outlet to share. We
mostly see Teslas passing through.
What I read about Carvana they can be hit or miss. My experience will turn out
well because I was able to repair the supply cord. The car was super clean.
Alan
