As a long-time member of this list, I want to express my thanks to Bruce
for all the effort he puts into gleaning information from multiple
sources and providing it here in concentrated form.
Having driven EVs since 1978, there is an expectation that I can somehow
be on top of all the world's current EV news when engaged in an
impromptu, random conversation. On top of the other things I do (work,
life, moderate another news list ...), and given the pace of change and
news in the EV world in recent years, that isn't possible. But Bruce's
contributions are a huge help in trying to stay current on what I'm
likely to get asked about next.
For now, EVs involved in spectacular crashes are deemed newsworthy by
the mainstream media. (This is progress. A decade ago an EV on the road
was newsworthy. 5 years ago any EV in any crash was newsworthy. 5
years from now it might be autonomous EVs in crashes (auton gassers in
crashes were newsworthy in 2018).
If you want to advocate for EVs (and that job is not nearly done yet),
you need to know what the current conversations are. Bruce's unpaid
work for EV owners (past, present and future) is a huge help. Even if
you don't advocate daily yourself, remember, if you're driving an EV
today, it's in part because EVangels in the past paved the road for the
EVs of today.

I'm tired of seeing all these reports about Tesla accidents. Yes, it's sad to
hear
about people being hurt, but it really is nothing more than a car accident story
and I really see no reason to have them part of our 'newsfeed'.
