In his previous tweets, the CEO has revealed some features that’ll come with this electric pickup truck. Here’s what we know about this. According to Musk, the Tesla “Blade Runner” truck is a six-seater electric pickup truck that can run up to 400-500 miles on a fully-charged battery. The pickup truck will also have a dual motor all-wheel drive, making it great for offroad due to its extra acceleration power. Moreover, the electric truck also has an outlet for up to 240-volts normally used for heavy-duty tools and can tow up to 300,000 pounds. The Tesla pickup truck will look like a proper truck, a design barely seen in electric vehicles so far. Musk also said that this electric pickup truck will have a “cyberpunk, Blade Runner-like” look, which could mean that it would have a futuristic design. Tesla has been aiming to streamline their vehicles for affordability while providing great features for its customers. In its Model 3 release, Tesla filled their vehicle with many features that provided its users with a comfortable experience, but this ramped up its price, which made buyers think twice about buying their cars. For now, we’ve yet to confirm the Tesla Blade Runner’s price, so we will have to wait until later this year to get the full details. Aside from Tesla, other car manufacturers are also entering the electric pickup truck industry. The Rivian R1T luxury pickup currently has specs that allow it to reach up to 400 miles of range and accelerate up to 60mph in just three seconds. Ford is currently developing the electric F-150 too. Aside from the “Blade Runner” truck, Tesla is also planning to release the Tesla Semi, which is a large transport truck that can be autopiloted and reportedly already has pre-orders for both government and private business use. For now, we’ll have to wait for Tesla to reveal more about the Blade Runner truck to know more about it soon.
