The collision was reported about 3 p.m. at the Los Robles Medical Center at 15215 National Ave. The Tesla drove over some ivy and came to a rest with its nose jammed into a doorway and its front wheels hanging over a walkway, according to pictures taken at the scene. “Based on the initial investigation at the scene, there was no indication that this collision was a result of anything beyond driver error,” said Los Gatos Monte Sereno police Capt. Clinton Tada. “The driver inadvertently applied the accelerator, causing the collision.” ... The collision caused minor structural damage to one office at the medical center, said Santa Clara County fire Capt. Bill Murphy. Murphy said it took some time to pull the Tesla from its perch. Authorities did not want to damage the undercarriage of the all-electric car, where the battery pack is located.
