OMAHA, Neb. — There's a new ride around town and it’s designed around one
man's love to drive.

He brought Tuk Tuk to Omaha to give people more transportation options. It's
a three wheeled, electric vehicle.

It’s rolling out just in time for the College World Series.

“We'd like to take people who think someplace is too far to walk and too
close to Uber,” Dan Morrissey said.

Morrissey brought the idea to Omaha as something to do in his retirement.

He'd considered a classic car limousine service but found something else.

“The response so far has been terrific especially during the College World
Series and some of the major concerts that go on in town,” Morrisey said.

Two electric Tuk Tuks run over the lunch hour on weekdays.

It also runs from about 5:00 to 10:00 pm Fridays and Saturdays.

It fits up to six people and can be driven year-round.

“It was smooth, and quiet, I enjoyed it a lot,” Tammy Nichols said.

The catch is, you'll have to spot one to ride it.

Right now, it's in the Old Market, Capitol District, Midtown Crossing and
Blackstone.

“It showed up here last week and we were curious about it. So, last Saturday
we decided to take advantage of it,” Dustin Gruwell said.

People told us it's a fun experience and a good option to have in town.

“We rode it last weekend and once you ride it once you're addicted,” Logan
Newman said.

For now rides are free. After the world series there are other plans for the
Tuk Tuk.

“We want to do a tour series. So, a brewpub tour, a progressive dinner tour,
a zoo tour. And you can rent one of these things for a private function if a
group wants to rent one of these things for the evening,” Morrissey said.

The company hasn’t set prices on that yet.

Along with fun, Morrissey hopes the Tuk Tuk will improve Omaha’s
accessibility.

“So, they'll be more excited about taking public transportation. More
excited about living in a big city where they don't necessarily have to
depend on their car,” Morrissey said.
