But what size home genset? I know how to live off a TT-30 (3kW) outlet
electrical power source (I'm quite good at conserving and minimizing
my polluting). My power load worst case would be either during the
hottest or coldest time of the year, where I'll have a combination
Air-conditioner/heater unit that plugs into a 6-20 outlet, plus one
5-20 outlet to power the refrigerator, & communications (phone, TV,
etc.). I'm thinking a 6kW rated genset running at reduced load would
work well.

Assuming not central air or electric heat, I would guess that 6kw will work for you. I mostly get through nights on my 14kwh PowerWall using a 600 watt air conditioner at night during hot months. During the day, it is a 1500 watt unit and I usually just leave the 600w on since I have surplus PV power. My nights average about 500w (the air conditioner cycles) and day time use is around 2kw, maybe a bit less. Peak loads, without EV charging, are 3-4kw.

I was expecting August to be the most stressing month with night time air conditioning ending sometime in September. Not so this year. I'm still running the air conditioner into October. The shorter days with longer nights have me supplementing the PW in order to avoid grid power use; I've been adding 2-3kwh each night.
