Back then, Nissan made it clear that their dealerships were NOT going to do any (dealership) upgrades performed after purchase to add CHAdeMO (meaning: if the ol' leaf EV was bought without CHAdeMO-L3, the original and future used-buyer were stuck with a slooow-charging limited-EV). It was mentioned at Nissan leaf EVS.org booths that there was much more than the hardware (CHAdeMO-L3 female-port, large gauge wiring harness, etc.) that was needed to add CHAdeMO to a leaf that didn't come with it. The onboard leaf firmware had to be reprogrammed to accept L3 charging.
