I, too, am puzzled by what possible benefit this "break through" might offer. Maybe someone will explain to me.

However, I'm not certain that regen will bring a car to a stop. I agree that Teslas, Bolts, and Volts will come to a stop without the use of the brake pedal. I suspect that the cars are applying brakes at lower speeds and the "throttle" is off.
