Sorry if this is somewhat OT but didn't know where else to turn for good advice on a battery selection for my ICE KZ1000 motorcycle. And as Lee Hart has so eloquently said "there are liars, damn liars and battery salesmen". I want the best SLA batt for the money as this is a large electric start only motorcycle and I live in the desert; at first I simply was going to get an Optima sealed AGM type but while looking for one I ran across a # of Li-ion batteries being offered at 2x or so to the AGMs that I am familiar with. Out of a half dozen Li-Ion batteries I looked at only 1 mentioned any kind of battery electronics IE: "Its built-in equalizing protection board helps prevent overcharging, too.". One did mention something about "anti-gravity" tho. Maybe it has Cavorite plates or somesuch... Anyway, anyone have experience with Li-Ion batts for SLA use in an ICE? I don't mind spending the money on a battery if it truly is better, just don't want to get sucked up in the hype. Any thought s or recommendations appreciated.
