I know Tesla's have a button that is normally used to open the door, but if power is removed you have to use a (different) manual actuator. In some of their designs it's not terribly obvious where to pull if the button doesn't work, so if somebody skipped that part of the manual they can get into trouble...

But that story was terribly lite on details....
