Section 310.4 of the National Electrical Code permits paralleling of conductors only if the wire gauge used is 1/0 or larger. There are further stipulations on the type and installation of the conductors. For sure, follow the NEC guidelines.

Really, who is likely to need this kind of ampacity in domestic wiring?
