Hmm, Bruce is about due to post another batch of news, isn't he?

I last heard from him (offlist) about a week ago. He was crabbing at me for
posting a news item about EVs now being the majority of vehicle sales in
Norway, and tagging it EVLN.

I'm sure that most of us appreciate the news posts and respect Bruce's many
years as aggregator. But for the record, no one has exclusive rights to
news posting and/or to the EVLN tag here. That wouldn't align well with the
list's community spirit.

It would also mean missing worthwhile information. Some of our members have
direct connections to elements of the business - engineering, automotive and
energy industries, environmental organizations, and so on. They see
specialty news items that Bruce and most of us don't.

So if you find an on-topic EV-related news item that's likely to be of
interest to the list, please don't hesitate to post about it, or link to it,
within the limits of copyright law (see below).

And please DO tag any such news items with EVLN at the start of the subject
line. We know from past research that some list members want news posts and
others don't. The EVLN tag helps ensure that they go to those who want
them.

BTW, it's no longer necessary to use your email client's filters to control
whether you receive news items. The listserver itself now provides optional
filtering, based on the EVLN keyword.

You can configure EVLN filtering on your personal EV list configuration
page. Do the following:

1. In your browser, open http://lists.evdl.org/options.cgi/ev-evdl.org

2. Log in using your list email address, and the password that you received
when you subscribed. If you've forgotten or lost your password, fill in the
email field and click the Remind button below. The listserver will email
you your password, as long as the email you typed matches its records for
you.

3. On your config page, scroll down to "Which topic categories would you
like to subscribe to?"

4a. To receive ALL list messages including EVLN (the default), untick both
EVLN and NO-EVLN.

4b. To receive NO EVLN messages at all:
        a. Untick EVLN
        b. Tick NO-EVLN
        c. Tick YES in the box below ("Do you want to receive messages that do
not
match any topic filter?")

4c. To receive ONLY EVLN messages and no others:
        a. Tick EVLN
        b. Untick NO-EVLN
        c. Tick NO in the box below ("Do you want to receive messages that do
not
match any topic filter?")

5. IMPORTANT: At the very bottom of the page, click the Submit My Changes
button.

If you can't make the above process work, contact me with your request, and
I'll set it up for you. Please use my private address from here:

Regrettably, there's currently no way to ask the listserver to filter out
only messages about electric car crashes, dodgy investment trolls, over-
unity motors, and/or vaporware miracle batteries. :-\
