Rav4 with optional CHADEMO would be effected. Some DIY people can purchase
CHADEMO equipment from the Arizona website.

Where does EVgo offer any Level 2 charging equipment?  What I'm familiar with
is their CCS/CHAdeMO charging stations.  I haven't seen a Level 2 EVgo station
in years.
In other words, I'm not aware of any DIY EV equipment that uses CCS or CHAdeMO,
so therefore this doesn't seem to have much effect.
As for the ability of a DIY EV to use a Level 2 charging station.  There are
J1772 inlets and equipment that is available for DIY EV's.  But is any of that
equipment actually certified to be J1772 compatible?
I know the J1772 inlet I had on my Karmann Ghia was not certified.  Just
because an inlet has the shape of a J1772 connector, and just because someone
rigged it to interact with a J1772 connector, doesn't mean the equipment has
been certified as conforming to SAE-J1772.
Likewise there might today be CCS or CHAdeMO equipment that "works" but has not
been certified.  Do you know whether a thingy that "works" every time you try
it will always work in all conditions?
There might be DIY modifications that some make to CCS or CHAdeMO equipment on
an otherwise OEM car.  If so, that invalidated whatever certification the OEM
did on their charging equipment.  Do you know whether such a modification is
still safe?
It is correct for a company operating equipment like this to insist on
standards-conforming devices.  This is especially true when the equipment power
is running at 50 kiloWatts.

My email from EVgo:
Dear Lawrence,

Thank you for being an EVgo customer. EVgo is always working to serve our
community of EV drivers with safety and reliability as our first priorities.
With that in mind and a goal of being as open and transparent with our users as
possible, we are notifying our customers of a change to our Terms of Service
related to charging services and adapters permitted at EVgo stations as well as
other minor updates to the Terms of Service.
Our updated Terms of Service will go into effect on Monday, February 22, 2021.

In an effort to easily convey the changes from the former version of our Terms
of Service here are the highlights:

Authorized Charging Adapters
For your safety, EVgo only permits the use of automaker-manufactured charging
adapters on EVgo charging stations or with EVgo’s charging network (“Authorized
Adapters”).   EVgo prohibits the use of all other adapters (“Unauthorized
Adapters”) on EVgo’s network and charging stations.

Prohibition of Home-Built Electric Vehicles, Modified Vehicles, and Modified
Chargers

Similarly, EVgo prohibits the use of all home-built electric vehicles,
home-built onboard chargers, and vehicles that contain personally-modified
chargers (“Unauthorized Vehicles and Chargers”).

Promotional Programs
EVgo continues to support a number of automaker promotional programs that offer
free or discounted charging to EVgo customers, and those programs may have
additional terms and conditions.

Clarifications on Personal Use
EVgo accounts are non-transferrable.

The full Terms of Service, including revisions referred to in this email, are
on the EVgo website at www.evgo.com/terms-service/. Please don’t hesitate to
reach out to EVgo Customer Support, 24/7 if you have questions or require
assistance at [email protected] or call 877-494-3833.

Thank you for choosing EVgo and driving electric!

Sincerely,

Your Fast Charging Friends at EVgo
Since I have never seen an EVgo technician at any of their sites...good luck
enforcing this one.
