I haven't been watching Tesla that closely, so this is news to me, and good 
news at that  If Tesla build a supermini hatch for the EU and sell it at 
around 25k euros, I think they'll pick up a lot of sales, at least in the 
short term.  It'll be formidable competition for Renault Zoe, Peugeot E-208, 
and VW ID3.

It will be interesting to see whether Tesla also tries to chase the emerging 
low end as represented by the Dacia Spring, which goes on sale in a couple 
of months.  The Spring's unofficial reported base price is 17,770 euros and 
I wouldn't be surprised to see dealers knock a little off that.  It will 
certainly have its limitations, range for one, but I still think that the 
low price will win it lots of friends.

That would be most welcome!  However I don't think it'll be quite that 
dramatic, at least not here in the US.  

I do think that ICEVs are on their way out in Europe, but not because Tesla 
is chasing them out.  Several major governments are.
