Disconnect the 12v and let it sit for at least 10 minutes.  Be sure the 12v
is fully charged and is stiff enough not to "droop" when a load is
applied.  (Best is to use a tester that employs the transconductance
method; Midtronics or similar)  Then when you connect it back, do so
without "bouncing" the last connection (should be negative).
