I don't think Waymo is ahead. I think Tesla reevaluated their position and corrected mistakes using radar. Lidar may be a liability. We shall see. The goal should be the ability to drive anywhere at any time. Waymo certainly can't do that. Just scripted paths. Tesla has bigger plans which is drive anywhere at any time.
