This is a common type of contract for many high end / high demand vehicles. Some exotic sports cars are only offered to previous good customers, and they are prevented from re-selling them for a set time period for similar reasons.

As long as you entered into the contract of your own free will, they are enforceable in civil courts.


If you don't want to agree to the contract, wait a year and then buy it used from somebody who did....
