I did consider that but what a shoddy way to treat a current-carrying
connector. Water, road grime, etc can't be too conducive to
conduction, and who wants to bend down to connect to it? Then there's
the obvious problem of backing over the cord and ripping the whole
works off the car when leaving the garage carelessly.
I guess maybe they get away with it because California doesn't salt
it's roads much in that part of the state.
