In case you don't live near any, the Amish are a religious community which has a reputation for avoiding modernity. They dress conservatively, don't generally allow telephones or electricity in their houses, and drive horse- drawn buggies.
At least they USED to prohibit electricity and phones and cars. They're still not on the grid, but these days increasing numbers of Amish have battery storage PV. They still don't have landlines, but now some of them have mobile phones - which I'm told they usually keep in the barn. And ... They still don't have cars, but increasingly some are using their PV systems to charge E-bikes.
