Hello again Meghan,
Yay! It looks like we've been given the green light on the use of your
logo
@Roberto, Virginia, et al: I'd like to propose we use it both for the
t-shirt design and for advertising of the event itself - what do you
guys think?
One thing I'm a little undecided on is the globe being centered on
NZ. I
wonder whether we should center it on another continent? Only
problem is
which? Or can we just encompass most of the globe by having europe and
the americas showing?
What does everyone think?
US and .eu seems cool for me :)
Great work.
What about having a place where people can put the city name ? Let's
say I want to print stickers with the Paris name on it, it would
bevery cool ! Can you do that, and then transfer the source, or
transfer a version with a few cities written on it ?
Dave
Thanks,
Tim

Hello again Meghan,
Just one thought that came up - I've had some further contact
with the
Plone Foundation board and they've reiterated that the logo
cannot be
altered in any way therefore would it be possible to modify
the last
logo you sent me to have the Plone logo 'infront' of the
globe
as this
would definitely leave the logo unaltered.
Thanks again (and sorry for the hassle),
Tim

Whew, it's possible, but probably a much

Ok, no problem - if you have some of the
original
files
available, e.g.
the globe I could have a go at it too if
you like
(or ask
someone else
in the community to have a look). The
update to make
it more
inline with
the logo guidelines is the most important
thing if
you are
able to make
those adjustments please :)
Thanks again,
Tim

Thanks for the

No probs :) Something that
Roberto Allende
mentioned
(the main
organiser
behind WPD) - is it possible to
have
variants of the
design
for
different areas of the world,
e.g. europe,
america,
asia
pacific (as per
current design), africas?
Thanks again for your hard work!

Hello again Meghan,
I just heard back from
Jon Stahl
(of the
Plone
Foundation
board) today
and he said that the
t-shirt
design
violates the
logo usage
guidelines :( As you
are not
allowed to
"alter" the
logo at
all. I
thought this was a
little strict
as the
logo itself
doesn't
actually
appear in the design,
just a
slight
reference to it
in the
holes in the
globe but oh well. Is
there any
way you
can either
modify the
design to
not include the holes
in the
globe or use
the plone
logo[1]
itself
"unaltered" in the
design?
Thanks!

Hi Meghan
and thanks a
lot for
the
submission - this
is great!
I'm going to
send a
message to
the ip
committee and
plone
foundation
board asking
if it's
ok to use
this as a
t-shirt
design (as
there's been
some comment
recently
re.
modifications of
the plone
logo and
problems
with this.
I'll let you
know how
things go.
In the
meantime, would
it be
possible to
get a
better res and
another
format for
the image
file, e.g.
a tiff or
something?
That way
I can get
moving on
getting
t-shirts done
if/when I
hear back
from the
board(s).
Thanks
again!
