I am so looking forward to being in Bilbao! You asked why WOSonOS 2022? My first YES! wasn’t rational. It was an intuitive leap that I needed to go. As the months have passed, I can tell you some of what was behind my yes.
First, it was a step back into a long tradition of OSonOS’s and I love this community enough that I wanted to support that. Then, selfishly, I hadn’t been on a plane since the pandemic started and I have never been to Spain. So it was a chance to travel to someplace new. And there’s the heartfelt invitation from Gentza Eleder and the Bilbao team that just felt so welcoming. Finally come the practical reasons: a chance to share craft. To connect with old friends and meet new ones. I remember my first OSonOS in 1996 as a chance to meet people in person whom I had only known via the OSlist. It was magical then, I expect it to be magical now. Oh, one more thing: I expect the unexpected. When you bring together a mix of adventurers from across the world, what is possible?
