Exciting ideas and nice memories of our experiment in Swenmark, it was a joy to play with it! To me its attractive to have several full, in person events and then simple ways to connect them and offer those who care to, to connect online and those who prefer to stay fully in the physical space to do so. Regarding the venues for OSonOS events: In the years 2009 through 2017, regional "Learning Exchanges" were convened in the OSonOS mode in the years in which WOSonOS took place OUTSIDE of Europe. We met in France/Paris in 2009, then in Italy/Sardinia 2011, in Holland/Utrecht in 2013, Spain/San Sebastian in 2016 and Iceland in 2017. Greetings from Berlin from an expert colleague that has never been in an online event or in a video conference or in the possesion of a cell phone (well, this year, my kids forced their 83 year old father to carry a cell phone to make calls and a few of them have my cell phone number, no one else) eagerly awaits his third WOSonOS in Berlin in the flesh in a relaxed mode... Our annual gathering has moved around the world from Moscow to Aussieland, stopovers in Chile and Iceland, and more.... Marvelous. Then came the plague and for three years nothing nowhere. Now it seems like we are back in business -- Berlin next year... Back to normal, so to speak. In the meantime, and thanks to the plague, we have developed some deep experience with virtual Open Space, most recently with the Peace and High Performance "gathering" which always took place in New York, but this year happened in (I think ) 15 countries with 80+ participants. Very different from the prior experiences at International House but powerful and rich. All of which brings me to the odd thought: Why go back to normal? Why not build on our plague generated experience and create a Hybrid WOSONOS with multiple sites and virtual connections. Simultaneously Gerardo and friends could host a gathering in Italy, Harold Shinsato could open some space in the USA, Christine might do the same from Paris... And everybody around the world would have the choice -- going to a place of their choosing and or joining anywhere around the world. Could be massively enriching -- and possibly a dress rehearsal for my hoped for conversation with 8,000,000,000 people around the world. Now that would really be some good open space. What do you say, Folks. It is all doable!
