My understanding of open space is that it is an energy field, with its own vibratory signature. Open Space Technology helps us to experience this open space of creation, of Creator. When we acknowledge the Open Space Technology meeting, we acknowledge a vibratory field, an energy field. The acknowledgement brings this field to our awareness. We don't create it, we acknowledge it. The possibilities that are in that field are our learning playground. We choose our play. We reap the benefits of our choices.
This perspective of Open Space Technology assists me in understanding that the space that I am aware of for the meeting is in place long before the meeting from the moment of the intention of having the meeting, and is in place long after the meeting limited only when the people involved stop being aware of the vibratory field. This perspective affects my work with Open Space Technology, allowing me to draw my attention to the space from the moment of intention, and allowing me to pay attention to the space long after the OST meeting has its 'closing circle'. "What does the field want from us?" is a question I learned from Anne Stadler. In my work, I pay attention to my internal guidance about what the field wants from us, and from me? I no longer use concepts of 'opening space' and 'holding space'. It is a true blessing to continue working with Open Space Technology. I have experienced so many amazing results from Open Space Technology meetings these last thirty years. A significant one for me is my own development and expansion.
