Hi Doris, Although the subject matter was not climate change, the subject was newborn, child and maternal survival. Our team had the joy of facilitating the Technical Advisory Group of a development organization in India. Representatives came from about 180 agencies including government representation from some of the states and the GOI. There was a sponsoring organization that created givens. Among the givens was that the sponsoring organization would undertake some of the initiatives that were identified in the OST meeting, that other agencies would undertake others based on their individual mandates. Individuals present could also undertake initiatives on their own. By the time our meeting with them was done and the final report generated, multiple agencies used the report as the backbone of their own work, countrywide. A great deal was accomplished in the months following the meeting.
Of importance was the givens set by the sponsoring agency, our choice to facilitate the meeting as a Whole Person Process Facilitation meeting as a platform (operating system) for the meeting, with an open space technology meeting taking place in this platform. Why the WPPF platform? It provided the conditions for story telling before the OST, the OST itself facilitated exactly as Harrison taught us over three decades ago, and the prioritization and action planning that immediately followed the OST.
