Hi Peggy and all Open Space TechnologistsWhile not competent in facilitation, regarding system transformers: i have believed since first meeting harrison about 20 years ago that every kid should experience at least a day of true open space -is it beyond education systems to arrange one happy day for seeing changes to grow? by tag I was asking is there any way to search through the half million open spaces to understand which worked with kids -if i was to be rude i might say there is probably more intelligence in the 20 best kid open spaces than in the whole of the us schooling systems right now -or some such resource but then I dont value schools existing independently of community and I dont believe in community ruled by lawyers or politics as opposed to whatever a community needs to generate so I come from far away (adam smith scots viewpoint actually) vis a vis middle america's real world though it turns out from what is now my family's 73rd year of trying to make sense of being von neumanns biographer that man-made engines of intelligence sought by neumann eiintein turing needed open space as much as community builders now need the best of AI- i would suggest worlds I see of fei-fei li out in 10 days if os network could agree on one book where tech and open space can help each other https://www.google.com/search?q=melinda+%22worlds+i+see%22+%22dear+black+girls%22 this is not a normal story: 15 years in china; 15 years of mainly being abused by princeton intellectuals; 15 years of being welcomed at stanford and changing silicon valley by earning trust of most of tech's 100 most influential west coast leaders
cribsheet 15 years ago a very ignorant professor in princeton told fei-fei she would never get an academic job again if she persisted in getting computers to vision what humans see -as it happened the same year i started research with muhammad yunus of dear black girls that took us across 10 states only to find that both he and obama were girlwashing so to speak- yes you can may of ben the PR of the moment of 2008-10 but neither had any intent to deeply change education and millennials livelihoods) 5 years ago feifei li told congress- the west coast will put a million times more computing into chats by 2023 so if educators dont get ahead of that there will be chaos https://www.c-span.org/video/?447599-1/artificial-intelligenceGIRLS SPRING 2024next week her book comes out in melinda gates women empowerment library followed by dear black girls by la basketball superstar aja wilson so by spring 2024 we will need open space black teen girls in any us city with a future of sisterly love cheers chris http://www.unsummitfuture.com +1 240 316 8157 On Tuesday, 24 October 2023 at 18:22:41 GMT-4, Peggy Holman via OSList <[email protected]> wrote: My response is a bit belated because Harold already answered the question about the correct date. We did the street kids Open Space on October 31 and November 1, 2004. Hard to believe it was 19 years ago! It continues to inform what I believe is possible with Open Space. I wouldn’t have had the courage to try it if it hadn’t been for Michael Pannwitz speaking to the OS he and Harrison did in May 2003 with 2,108 German psychiatrists who met for a day in Open Space as part of a four day congress for systems constellations. I found pictures: https://www.transformation.at/documents/OS_Wuerzburg_minimized.pdf One of the funny side stories was that Michael and company used balloons to mark the different breakout spaces. I made that suggestion to the folks I worked with in Colombia before I knew we were meeting on a school campus with lots of rooms. Still, we had lots of balloons floating around. You can see them in the pictures at the link Harold included below. One big difference between the Würzburg, Germany and Bogotá, Colombia Open Spaces was how sessions were announced is visible in the pictures. As people waited to announce their sessions in Germany, they were in a neat line. The street kids looked like a mob around Andres, who held the mic. In both cases, it was orderly but the image was sure different! Like Harold, I wasn’t sure what you were asking about search tags Chris. I hope a good time was had by all who were in Berlin. Next year in Istanbul! There's a link to pictures in her article that starts with a title - "Colombia Open Space 2004 - Open Space event just outside Bogota, Colombia with 2,100 people - 1,800 street kids, ages 15-22, and 300 teachers. The focus was on a jobs program." -https://www.flickr.com/photos/78084501@N00/sets/72157624492066539/with/4844219418 The flickr site shows "original photo date", that if Peggy set up her camera properly - these dates should be accurate. I see October 31, 2004 as the start date. As for your second question - where are you hoping to find a tag to search out contexts over the last 20 years? Through the OSList? The Internet in general (like through Google)? Somewhere else?
