I don't need to become a citizen.  And in any case, if I sell my real estate in CA I'm sure Canada will welcome me.  I haven't checked Canada but I looked into New Zealand which I'd probably like better, but it's too far from my relatives.  At 85 I'm not much for fighting.

You ought to check the financial requirements to become a citizen of Canada. They could be rather onerous. Also, FWIW, the nobler path IMO, is to remain here and fight to save our imperfect democracy. AG
