I'm not going to spend the time looking at a video, but I'm guessing that they're arguing that the switch from exponential to hyperbolic technological change will occur this year, not that the singularity will occur this year.
IIRC, Kurzweil estimated that the time from hyperbolic growth starting to the singularity was of the order of a decade. I did hear about the Cursor experiment with Claude code through other channels. It would appear that hardware and money was no object in this experiment, I imagine it would cost an absolute bomb - but as we know, these costs will come down.
