Yes, you could be right about nobody wanting to follow Tipler in that pursuit,
although for a while I was wondering if robotics engineer, Hans Moravec, would
lead the way in a slightly. different, dirrection.Moravec, has not, so there
may be nothing to this application of physics. I do know of one Italian
physicist, who has pretty, much, conceded that if there was a paper produced in
this line of thought, the physicist had better bury the conclusion in specific
language and wording that would conceal it.

That's overstated. He still gets his papers posted on arXiv.org.

Pretty much nobody has followed in his foot steps (who wants a career at a
university),

You imply that there a people who wanted to but caved in to venal motives.
Maybe there was just nobody who thought it was a sensible theory to research.

plus his original standard model got consumed by the WMAP survey. An
accelerating cosmos wasn't what was in the theory.
