There's something disturbing about how organic these images look.
With evolution and even statistical physics we understand how nature
keeps using variations of the same "trick", but then to also find
these things deep in the abstractions of math... One can't help but
feel that there is something fundamental about reality that we don't
fully grasp.
Very beautiful indeed, and some are rather strange. I think you intuit
here that the "mathematical reality" kicking back.
Life, at some level, seems also to iterate simple rules, and I would
not been astonished if one day "evolution" could not been described by
such a simple iteration guiding the mutation selection. There are
relation between chaos and fuzzy self-reference, between quantum
chaos, and the primes numbers, statistics, and knot theory, math is
infinitely amazing, and I can loss a night of sleep when I get to
close to John Baez site, or the n-category café :)
You can easily lost yourself there,
