Question about the Higgs Boson discovery at CERN?
It has been over two years since CERN announced it had discovered the Higgs 
Boson. Using data from two separate experiments (the Compact Muon Solenoid 
(CMS) and the ATLAS experiments) as the basis for their claimed discovery. But 
-- now -- two years later  -- the data from both experiments have still not 
been combined. 
Combining the data would solve some questions, like the four muon mass 
distribution (one of the clearest "signatures" of the Higgs Boson is its decay 
into four muons). Is this more than two year delay in combining these two 
datasets purely a technical issue related to the sheer size and complexity of 
the data? Or are there any discrepancies buried inside the two result sets that 
are making collation of the data into a unified result set problematic.
The claim that the Higgs was found at around 125-126 Gev would be stronger if 
these datasets were combined and the results both lined up neatly.
