There are sides to this list where trolling and vain posing with sophisticated ideas, however valid such ideas finally may be, is disingenuous, self-destructive, and the work of unfeeling, insecure jerks with some agenda to prove to themselves (which they need to pull others into to support their addiction). This is unfortunate for those among us, that are unconvinced by propositions and assumptions that separate the theological discussion, machine discourse etc. from the material science question in a fundamental/dogmatic way because among these participants, there are virtually 0 arguments that can be construed to harbor bad faith. It's unfortunate that the "theologically agnostic" (yes, contradiction intended) set of list participants is held hostage by fake jerks in terms of the history of this list. I've tried to convince the agnostics here to move on and cultivate their own list, but as we can all see, I've not been that convincing. I still come back to the list, but I don't check back for a week or more these times as the culture here has become more toxic than it used to be. Somehow people seem more frustrated and in need of a validation they don't believe in, but which they feel compelled to force from others in some elaborate game regardless. And as nobody feels like wasting time playing therapist, savior, elite scientist, or patronizing correct righteous jerk with a bunch of name-crazy, status-needy trolls, I admire all the non-jerks that have the faith to keep posting. You guys know who you are and I wish you safe passage on your travels.
