Yah, Atlas has made it all over the internet over the last 2 weeks. What's killing robotics, and solar power, is "energy storage." The ancestor to Atlas is Big Dog, which the Pentagon turned down because of its noisy engine drawing rifle and mortor fire. As of now thereis no fuel cell that could do what Atlas now does-for very long.Atlas cannot do things with its battery pack for very long either. It is also is the chief reason that the electric vehicle market has never taken off, despite hybrids, despite Tesla. Zap! The Robot revolution may take longer then anyone wanted because of this. Now, maybe mirco robots for medicine could be the easiest way forward?
