It's impressive and I can imagine using a learning module like this to do something like navigate a Mars Rover.  But what makes most real-world problems different is that there's no simple, clear-cut win/lose value.  It might be that human and animal intelligence evolved like this, with different modules that did "tabla rasa" learning to solve narrow problems in vision, kinematics, navigation,...
