Actually, more likely at the Antipodes from each other. See any of the putative maps of Pangaea. But seismic waves induced by bolide impacts can be focussed on the antipodes, and the link between bolide impacts and volcanism has been suggested. For example (Geophysical Journal International, Volume 187, Issue 1, 1 October 2011, Pages 529–537, https://doi.org/10.1111): https://academic.oup.com/gji/article/187/1/529/564818 I think a link has been suggested between the Chicxulub impact at the KT boundary and the Deccan traps, which may have been antipodal at the time, but uncertainties in the location of landmasses and the timings of the events means it is by no means a sure thing. The Deccan traps began erupting nearly a million years before the Chicxulub impact, for instance. The The above mentioned paper puts the Antidpodes of Chicxulub in NW Australia, which was certainly not true 65 million years ago.
