That there is a GR+QM combo theory problem is generally noted, but the 
"crisis" Hossenfelder, Baggott, etc. are talking about is the theory that 
is being generated (and written up in "popular" books) is a big rabbit 
hole, or a bunch of rabbit holes, (or in a group-thinking mode) leading 
nowhere, and not helpful in their being promoted as being the next big 
thing.
