There is a sort of awe involved here. One of the things GPT-3 does is become a knowledge base that provides coherent answers to direct questions available from scientific papers and the like. I take it more seriously than Neilsen but opinions flourish in regard to machine intelligence. Until it starts performing innovations on a consistent basis I will hold my awe in check. I did like its answer on FTL travel, because it is consistent with physics as it developed over the 20th and 21st centuries.
