Doesn't a mixed state satisfy the Ignorance Interpretation by definition? Concerning a pure state, does it negate the Ignorance Interpretation because it's a linear combination of pure state vectors in some Hilbert Space? Brent was emphatic, writing "exactly wrong", that the Ignorance Interpretation could be applied presumably to a linear combination of pure states, but never proved his claim. OTOH, Quentin, offered a possible example why the Ignorance Intepretation could not be applied to a linear combination, presumably consisting of basis vectors, but had a typo near the beginning of his example, which I flagged, but which he hasn't corrected, so I gave up on his example. So, what is the status of mixed and pure states with respect to the Ignorance Interpretation, and why? TY, AG Reply all Reply to author Forward
