The Future of our Digital Commons
 
On Thursday February 3, 2005, from 10 AM to 4 PM CROSSTALKS and DISC present 
The Future of our Digital Commons. 
The event is a day seminar based on the release of the 1st VUB CROSSTALKS book: 
�How Open is the Future?� and presenting the DISC educational program for 2005. 
The seminar starts with a series of interdisciplinary, confronting and 
complementing talks on economic, social and cultural scenarios inspired by Free 
& Open Source Software. The speakers are Jan Cornelis (Vice-rector Research 
VUB), Philippe Vincke (Dean Faculty Applied Sciences ULB & President of DISC), 
Bruno de Vuyst & Liv Steuts (Lawfort), Dirk Tombeur (Microsoft) and Melanie 
Carly (Creative Commons). Place: Promotiezaal D201. Introducing Jean-Michel 
Dalle (Paris Dauphine & Paris VI, president of the French n�1 Public Incubator 
Agoranov) who will give an extra talk about �Open� Innovation at 2 PM. Place: 
Aula QD. 
Registered participants will receive the CROSSTALKS book and are invited for 
lunch at noon and for a coffeebreak at the end of the seminar. How Open is the 
Future? (VUB PRESS) is released under a Creative Commons License and will be 
online from the 5th of February on. Ordering books can be done at
