Hello hackers, I'm collecting the status of internationalized domain names (IDN) in Debian (should be the same in Ubuntu and other distributions).
Webbrowsers (Firefox, epiphany, chromium, ...) supports it since some time and most of the email clients too. As summary can be found here: https://wiki.debian.org/IDN Sadly evolution doesn't support this standard and users get an error message from the MTA. Maybe someone helps us users and add IDN support to evolution with the help of libidn https://www.gnu.org/software/libidn/ or libidn2 https://www.gnu.org/software/libidn/#libidn2 The evolution bug is this https://bugzilla.gnome.org/486018 Thanks alot for your work.
