Actually, I don't want a seperat eprocess to do _filtering_. I want to
filter using Evo, and then, when conditions are right, have the filter
bounce the specific message(s) to an external app.
For example, say I have a short script that takes an email as input, and
outputs a calendar entry. I can filter mail sbased upon certain
characteristics of certain calendar requests, and then have Evo (at my
option) pass them to my script, which would then allow me to decide upon
entering them into gnomecal, for instance.
Another example is that I may want email with a certain subject, or
whatever, to be bounced to my pager/cellhpone, or whatever.
Yes, it would be nice for the calendaring stuff to 'just work' inside,
Evo, but I gotta be realistic. :) By providing an action to take, such
as 'pass to external program', I could 'intergrate' much better into the
corporate environment I have been saddled with. it owuldn't be perfect,
but of those I have spoken to at work about it, they agree that wthis
would provide them with enough to drop Outlook in toto.
Like i said, it's be a nicety, and a damned nice one at that, but I do
see potential issues with it too. Of course, if there was a way I could
call the functions for Evo to add calendar items from an external
source, it'd make for a kudgy, if not functional, use of those 'put this
on your calendar' emails from coworkers.
