I've put a patch into camel that will make getting mail/importing mail faster particularly when the destination is mbox files.
The code was unecessarily saving out index and summary files after EVERY single message append, rather than waiting till they were all complete. Thanks to Lewing for tracking this down. I hope it fixes most of his getting mail performance problem.
