If you would have asked me, as I state it's just a reset never said that's the problem. It's just the easy fix. There is a bug in Gnome and not in the kernel, go find it. But since ORBIT2 makes this mostly irrelevant, I would just wait if the bug is still in Gnome2, I haven't checked.
