Evo has a number of fairly featureful search functions, but I find there's one it doesn't have which I would really like. The "Show" drop-down (called Quick Search in the online Help) has a list of criteria -- All, Unread, Important, etc. -- which appears to be wired in. Would it not be useful to allow the user to add selection criteria here? For example, I'd love to be able to select for "New OR Important OR ToDo" and have this as the default view for certain folders, but there's doesn't appear to be a way of doing this. The lack of this facility means that I find myself using Unread as the criterion, and turning off the automatic "message read" preference. I then mark a message as read only after I've dealt with it. Since my guiding principal is "Procrastinate Now!" I have quite a few "Unread" messages lying around :-)
Using the Search box (top right) doesn't do the job because it would then become effectively disabled for actual searching, e.g. within message content. Search Folders aren't right either, since they appear in the folder list, which can't even be ordered according to preference (BTW this last has been requested repeatedly). I want this to work in any normal folder (as well as in Search Folders of course). Is there an existing solution to this, and if not, does it sound a reasonable thing to ask for as an enhancement? poc _______________________________________________ Evolution-list mailing list [email protected] http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/evolution-list
