Hi, I was wondering if anyone had some pointers to try and establish where we are getting a bottleneck in speed.
We have pam_mounted cifs shares as user home directories and its all ok and good, until evolution come to "storing folders" at which point it can stall for a while (1500mails in inbox). Don't think its network, 1GB link... so either Samba server or Evolution not liking the cifs mount. So we sym linked the .evolution folder to a folder on the hard disk of the machine. Quick as anything. The difference seems to be instantaneous (local HDD) to > 70sec over cifs. Appreciate this is probably not an evolution issue, but had to start somewhere. Any pointers greatly appreciated.
