Hi,
every folder has its own view selected, under View->Current View menu.
General folders has preselected "Messages" view. As soon as you change
anything in the view you end up with a Custom View which you can save.
If you overwrite this "Messages" view, then all folders having this view
set will inherit the change immediately. On the rest you just select
this view from View->Current View->Messages.
Only note that Sent folders, and maybe others too, has different view as
the default one.

It's less user-friendly method than Thunderbird (little complicated :p),
but it works.
